Well I don't have one, but what's a good entry level bow?

I have the Bear Encounter bow package. It's a good bow for the price and it came with the sights, whisker biscuit, quiver and other add on. If you can head down to Bass Pro shop they have a lot to chose from and are very helpful at least the guys up here were. They will also measure your draw, set the draw pounds then let you fire it several times. I went with a 45 to 50 pound draw so it was more comfortable to fire. you'll also need arrows and tips, a trigger, a target and about 30 to 50 yards of space to practice.

    What'd it run you?

Also, what targets & target backs are best to start with since we don't have a lot of hay bales down here...

There are a lot of targets you can chose from if I had the money I'd get a real deer target. As for a target back don't know. Some places use a kevlar curtain. I'd say don't miss the target I've been doing pretty well I have only lost one arrow. while shooting. Missed 2 deer but I've only shoot at 2 deer however I found both arrows. if you look around you may find an Archery/ Bow hunting club down there that has a range you can go to.
